Ho! Ha-ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!

This about sums up Kung Fuesday today …

I never know what to expect when I walk onto the mat. Well, my old pal, Frustration, of course. But then, he follows me everywhere …

It’s both inspiring and disheartening to see even the yellow belts dance around with such grace. As I left tonight, I wondered what it was going to take to get better.

Of course, the answer is practice. Somehow, for the things I love most – music, writing, kung fu … even reading comics – I find little time to practice.

However, if there are belts for Worrying, I am probably three shades darker than a black belt. THAT I practice with a frequency and regularity that would stun

So, my goal for the weekend – no matter what comes my way (aside from my 46th birthday – and the heap of worries THAT itself brings) is that I will set aside even just 15 minutes to work on my staff. Maybe 15 minutes to work on that screenplay I’m always threatening to revise.

Because what if I did that every weekend? Every day?

I might just be able to knock this out. Let’s see … “Ho! Ha-ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust!”
